NIDA T32 Predoctoral trainee Vijaya L. Seegulam graduated Friday, August 8, with her PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Florida. Additionally, in July, NDEWS MPI Dr. Joseph Palamar was promoted to Professor of Population Health at NYU Langone Health. Congratulations to Drs. Seegulam and Palamar.
Following the NDEWS 4th Annual Summit, members of the NDEWS Coordinating Center (CC) will present a late-breaking abstract, an oral presentation, symposiums, and posters showcasing our latest data while at CPDD. In addition to presenting at CPDD, NDEWS Director, Dr. Linda Cottler (MPI), will deliver the keynote during the 2025 CPDD/RSA Joint Program focusing on NDEWS.
In April 2020, the second iteration of the NIDA-funded NDEWS was awarded to our team at the University of Florida, New York University, and Florida Atlantic University. We published our first ever NDEWS Weekly Briefing on August 28, 2020. Now on September 20, 2024, we celebrate the publication of our 200th issue of the NDEWS Weekly Briefing. This weekend, the NDEWS team will be traveling to attend the 86th CPDD Annual Meeting in Montreal, Quebec Canada. The NDEWS team will be presenting both an oral presentation and an invited symposium, showcasing our latest data. We invite you to join us for these presentations.
Rapid Street Reporting (RSR) is a national venue-intercept study focused on the 17 NDEWS Sentinel Sites. RSR will take place monthly over a weekend period. This initiative uses a modified version of Dr. Joseph Palamar’s validated rapid survey, which has been previously used to survey over 4,500 nightclub attendees.
