September 2023: UNODC EWA: Number of NPS reported for the first time, at 10-year low
|

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) published a news item announcing that the total number of new psychoactive substances (NPS) reported for the first time in 2022 was 44, representing the lowest number of new NPS reported to the UNODC Early Warning Advisory in over 10 years. Out of the 44 NPS reported in 2022, synthetic cannabinoids were the largest group reported for the first time globally. Read the report here. |

Shrooms go upscale amid psychedelics craze
An article published earlier this week describes the growing interest in psychedelics and changes in consumers. Last year, about 2.5 million middle-aged Americans used hallucinogens, up from 1.5 million the year before. Each webinar will begin with a review of the newest trend reports, followed by presentations that cover topics related to forensic toxicology, forensic chemistry, clinical toxicology, analytical chemistry, and more.
