Yesterday, on April 30th, the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) issued a Drug Threat Notice concerning cychlorphine (N-Propionitrile Chlorphine), a synthetic opioid in the orphine class that is often mixed with fentanyl or other drugs. Cychlorphine has been involved in at least 55 fatal overdoses in the US since 2025 and has been detected in all four regions of the country, with the highest prevalence reported in Ohio, Texas, and Tennessee.

The goal of ONDCP alerts is to inform the public about potential or active emerging/evolving drug threats in a quick and digestible format. Please share this with your networks. Resources are also included in the link.
